There is NOTHING more manly than sitting at home on a rest day in your best boxers watching a Rocky movie and diving into a nut butter with a tablespoon (or wooden spoon in my case)…ok maybe thats just me but either way we all need a release and so below is an awesome and much cheaper alternative to the current ridiculously expensive shop bought nut butters…my fellow lifters, heres to you! Enjoy.

A homemade nut butter recipe with endless options. Customise your way to a cheat day release:


  1.  300g Almonds, Peanuts, Cashew Nuts, Macadamia Nuts or any nut of your choosing (or combine 2 or more for even better results)
  2. 1 Scoop of your favourite Whey Protein Powder (I like Cherry bakewell by musclefood as it makes an amazing peanut butter and cherry bakewell flavoured butter)
  3. Pinch of sea salt
  4. Natural Flavouring or flavour drops to taste if needed.


Blend all ingredients together in a blender or food processor and mix well. Store in an air tight container.

Find your favourite wooden spoon or ladle and get stuck in!
