Snickers Protein Shake

This Snickers protein shake is super simple and easy to make. It’s great after a workout or as a meal replacement when craving a big man size chocolate bar.

I use frozen banana for this shake as it gives it a thicker, creamier texture but you can use unfrozen too. I have a constant supply of them in the freezer portioned up in zip lock bags so they are ready to go when pushed for time in the week. It’s also a good way to avoid wasting food, when they start to turn over ripe, slice them up and stick them in the freezer – actually they work best for shakes and protein ice-cream as they taste sweeter.

Snickers Protein Shake:


1 serving of chocolate whey protein powder (or casein). Natural/plain whey is also fine but add an extra tbsp of cocoa.

1 tbsp pure cocoa or cacao powder.

1 frozen banana.

1 tbsp of natural peanut butter (or any natural nut butter).

1 cup of unsweetened almond milk.

A pinch of salt.


Extra xylitol/stevia/honey to sweeten.


Whizz all the ingredients up in a blender and serve immediately.
