Men's Yoga Wear
So apparently, men are doing yoga these days and not just to hit on bendy women in tight lycra but rather to reap the benefits of improved strength, mobility, flexibility, balance, injury prevention and focus – an appetising accompaniment to any training programme. George Clooney, Russel Crowe and Hugh Jackman (to name but a few) are all enthusiastic advocates of yoga practice for fitness and health, undeterred by it’s old reputation of being feminine, hippy dippy stretching set to the sound of wind chimes and the suffocating fumes of burning incense.

If you’re yet to be convinced, read Tony Parsons’ article for British GQ, I couldn’t have put it better myself, so I’ll hand you over: Yoga: Your Flexible Friend.

However, men’s yoga apparel has been sorely neglected. Trying to source stylish, contemporary garments in flexible fabric has been a big challenge.

Yoga Bottoms:

1. Compression Shorts Under Shorts:

No need to buy a totally separate yoga wardrobe. Any compression shorts/cycle shorts under running/workout shorts will work well allowing for comfort and freedom of movement without any awkward “peekaboo” moments or “MAMIL toe.” Board shorts with a good inbuilt brief would also work.

However, I would choose ASHMEI’s 2in1 Running Shorts. They benefit from the inbuilt merino compression shorts, making them breathable, sweat wicking and light.
